Nawaz's wife became an organ donor after her death, saving four lives, including a little boy who wouldn't have made it to two without a part of her liver. This experience highlighted the profound impact of having these discussions in advance. Nawaz said, 'I lost my wife in 2004, and she went on to become an organ donor, saving four lives. That all came about because we'd had the conversation about organ donation in advance.'

He said, 'I was prepared to face the question from medics when she died because I knew in advance that my wife wanted to donate her organs.'
