Adilyn Williams, a rising star in the world of swimming, has announced her commitment to Colorado Mesa University, a Division II program in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. This decision marks a significant step in her athletic career, as she prepares to take her swimming prowess to the next level. Williams, a senior at Hanford High School in West Richland, Washington, currently swims year-round with the Tri-City Channel Cats. Her versatility in the water is evident in her strong performances across various events, including free, breast, fly, and IM. At the 2025 Tualatin Hills Holiday Classic, Williams set two new personal best times, placing 9th in the 200 breast and 11th in the 100 breast, and hitting a lifetime best in both events. She also placed 9th in the 200 IM, logging a season-best time in all four races.
The following month, at the 2026 IES Short Course Championships, Williams continued her impressive form. She won the 50 breast and placed 14th in the 50 fly, posting lifetime best times of 31.03 and 28.27, respectively. She also took the runner-up spot in both the 100 breast and 200 breast, and placed 4th in the 200 free and 200 IM, 5th in the 100 free, and 23rd in the 50 free. Just a few weeks later, she lowered her lifetime best in the 200 IM to 2:10.95 at the BC Premier Invitational.
Williams' success extends beyond the pool, as she has consistently achieved strong times in freestyle events. She holds a best time of 54.66 in the 100 free from the 2025 IES Short Course Championships and a best time of 1:55.98 in the 200 free from the 2024 Northwest Region Age Group Regionals. At the 2025 Austin Sectionals, she posted then-best times in the 100 breast and 200 IM, further solidifying her versatility and talent.
Colorado Mesa University's women's team has been on a remarkable run, claiming their eighth consecutive conference title at the 2026 RMAC Championships. The team's success is evident in their performance at the NCAA Division II Championships, where they took 3rd overall. Based on her recent performances, Williams would have landed in the 'A' final in the 200 breast, the 'B' final in the 100 breast and 200 free, and the 'C' final in the 200 IM, setting her up to be a strong contributor from the start.
