One of the key changes is the move to 72 holes, a decision supported by the overwhelming response from fans and markets. O'Neil sees this as a step towards preparing their players for the majors and providing a more sustainable format. But the real challenge lies in gaining acceptance from the established golf ecosystem, including the PGA Tour and the DP World Tour.
"It's a complex situation," O'Neil admits. "The ranking system is home to some of the greatest golfers in the world, and many of them now play in LIV. We're doing our best to make the decision to grant us ranking points an easy one, while maintaining the integrity of our league."
